How Strong is Golden Frieza?

Frieza is one of the naturally strongest fighters in the Universe. This is even more remarkable considering for years and years; he never trained a day in his life! That is, of course, until he was humbled by Goku and then Future Trunks.

So when Frieza actually trained a little bit, he unlocked one of the strongest transformations ever, Golden Frieza. It certainly looks impressive, but how strong is Golden Frieza?

Golden Frieza is as strong as a Super Saiyan Blue. Frieza hasn’t fully mastered Golden Frieza yet, so it could get a lot stronger.

What is Golden Frieza?

Golden Frieza is Frieza’s version of Super Saiyan. It’s an ultra-powerful transformation that greatly increases the user’s power level.

We’ve long known that Frieza’s race has the ability to transform to suppress their power, and with Golden Frieza know that his race can transform to increase their power. Someone explained Frieza’s ability to transform pretty well in this quora answer.

It also seems that Frieza can choose the colour of this transformation as well, making it hilarious Frieza would choose gold, always being the showman.

Perhaps this decision was also made out of jealously, Frieza wanting to outdo Goku’s yellow Super Saiyan form with his shinier, more powerful Golden Form.

Golden Frieza Vs Goku & Vegeta – Power comparison

The best way to gauge how strong Golden Frieza is is by looking at his fight with Goku and Vegeta during Resurrection F movie/Golden Frieza Saga.

In his Golden Form, he was easily able to beat Super Saiyan God Goku. Golden Frieza was also able to go toe-to-toe with Super Saiyan Blue Goku/Vegeta but lost because he couldn’t control all of the power. So we know Golden Frieza is as strong as Super Saiyan Blue.

We also saw Frieza control his Golden Form better during the Tournament of Power, so Golden Frieza could potentially get even stronger than Super Saiyan Blue one day.

Unfortunately, there hasn’t been official power levels in Dragon Ball since all those Scouters got destroyed on Namek.

Golden Frieza vs Beerus – Who’d win?

King Cold probably wasn’t the greatest father ever, but he did give his son Frieza a great bit of advice. Don’t pick a fight with Majin Buu or Beerus.

And thankfully, Frieza has taken this advice to heart and never challenged Beerus.

But if they were to fight, then there’d only be one winner, Beerus. Beerus would wipe the floor with him, in the same way, he wiped the floor with Goku.

Beerus uses ultra instinct, and so Frieza wouldn’t be able to lay a glove on him. Perhaps if Frieza got another power-up or learnt Ultra Instinct, the fight would be more interesting, but as of now, Beerus would win.
