What is Cell Jr’s power level?

Just when you thought one Cell was bad enough, he reveals a new power and gives birth to 7 Cell Jrs. Don’t let their name fool you. These are some tricky little guys and manage to beat up most of the Z fighters but were easily beaten by Super Saiyan 2 Gohan. So just how strong are Cell Jr’s, and what is Cell Jr’s power level?

Cell Jr’s power level is exactly the same as their creator, Cell. So they were stronger than a Super Saiyan, but not as strong as a Super Saiyan 2.

Cell Jrs were as strong as Cell.

It’s stated in Daizenshuu 7 that Cell Jr’s have the exact same power level as Cell. This is slightly horrifying for the Z fighters, as they were struggling to beat just one Cell.

This is also surprising that Cell had the ability to create an unlimited amount of ultra-powerful beings, and if he wanted to, could brute force his way to victory.

But luckily, he only made 7; otherwise, even Gohan might have had a problem beating up a thousand Cell Juniors.

Cell Jr power level is estimated to be between 2 billion and 10 billion.

After the Frieza saga, power levels were pretty much abandoned.

With those pesky earthlings able to raise and lower their power levels, Scouters became pretty useless.

And this means that we never get an accurate power level of Cell or Cell Jrs.

If you poke around the internet, you’ll find a few guesses which seem to range from 2 billion to 9 billion, but these are just head-canon.

There is no official power level for Cell Jr, but these guesses seem pretty reasonable to me.

Cell Jr is stronger than a Super Saiyan but weaker than a Super Saiyan 2

Even though we don’t have a power level to judge Cell Jr’s strength, we can measure them against the Z warriors.

All of the Cell Jrs seem to be winning their fights against Goku, Vegeta and Future Trunks, who were all Super Saiyans.

They weren’t winning that quickly, though, which suggest they were around that level but not massively stronger.

When when Gohan turns Super Saiyan 2, he is able to kill them easily. So we can put Cell Jr’s further toward SSJ1 than SSJ2.

Why did Cell Jrs struggle with Z fighters if they were as strong as Cell?

When I first watched the episodes where Cell Jrs are beating up the Z fighters, I thought that although they were pretty strong, they weren’t as strong as Cell.

Cell would have killed most of those Z fighters instantly, so why were Cell Jrs struggling with the stronger Z fighters.

One possible reason for this could be Cell Jrs were just toying with the Z fighters and not using their full strength.

Their whole reason for existing was to annoy Gohan into powering up, and they definitely succeeded. So there was no need for them to use all their power.

Another explanation could be they didn’t have much fight experience, and so they were able to utilise their power levels to the full potential.

What is Cell Jr’s power level? – Final Thoughts

Even though we will never know Cell Jr’s power level, we know those are some tough sons of guns.

Anyone that can throw Goku around like a ragdoll is definitely worthy of respect, and it’d be interesting if a Cell Jr survived and made his way to adulthood, but I guess we’ll just need to leave it to fanfic to see what an adult Cell Jr would look like.
